New Voters
And there is no doubt that "new voters" turned out in this election. When they say "new voters" they are talking about people who have never voted in an election before. And of these new voters, 6 out of every 10 were under the age of 30 years old. So we are talking about the college kids and those people who have barely begun to formulate a mature thought about politics ... I know, I am going to catch hell for that ... "but not ALL college kids!"
My point is that these young voters turned out for Barack Obama in numbers close to 70% in some states. They came out to vote for their American Idol/MTV candidate. And these people are the future of this country. Maybe they will one day realize the repercussions of putting a Marxist in the White House when they try to open their own business. Maybe they'll look back and think "Gawd, how could I have been so ignorant? How could I have bought into this "change" rhetoric?" They will get what they voted for, and you can thank government schools, by the way.
I've been doing talk radio for almost 40 years. This is my 10th presidential election as a talk show host. A lot of younger listeners – the type who voted for Obama, I suspect – love to send me emails making fun of my age. The "hey old man" messages come now with regularity. Well .. tell you what. It's not my future that has been endangered by this election. I don't have to worry about the MoveOn Democrat party robbing me of my opportunity to make a good life for myself and my family. Been there, done that. Some of you younger voters might want to stop and take a moment to think about your own future though. Many of you will succumb to government paternalism and do just enough to get by ... collecting your "tax break" checks from the government and making sure that those checks never go away by keeping the Democrats in power.
I have a friend who's daughter received her first paycheck a few weeks ago .. a check for one day's work as a substitute teacher. Now remember ... we're talking teacher here ... as in government schools. She earned $60 dollars for that one day's work ... but the check was for $52. She was shocked. "But dad!" she said, "They told me I was going to make sixty dollars!"
Hey, lady. You ain't seen nuthin' yet.

Some of you, though, are going to become ambitious. You're going to experience the desire to work hard, to work smart, and to go the extra mile. When you do you're going to find the government there ready to stand in your way and, if you manage to succeed, rob you of the fruits of your labor.

Changes in the Workplace . . .
(OK, boys and girls, please comment and tell me if these types of changes in your workplace would be satisfactory? I mean let's help those who can't help themselves at work. Some of us just have a tendency to work harder than others, why should those who don't work as hard as us not get their fair share? VN8)
You small business owners out there are preparing for life under a Barack Obama presidency. One of our listeners sent us some new rules for small businesses based on Obama's ideals of change and fairness:
As of November 5, 2008, when President Obama officially becomes president-elect, our company will instill a few new policies which are in keeping with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness:
1. All salespeople will be pooling their sales and bonuses into a common pool that will be divided equally between all of you. This will serve to give those of you who are under-achieving a "fair shake".
2. All low level workers will be pooling their wages, including overtime, into a common pool, dividing it equally amongst you. This will help those who are "too busy for overtime" to reap the rewards from those who have more spare time and can work extra hours.
3. All top management will now be referred to as "the government." We will not participate in this "pooling" experience because the law doesn't apply to us.
4. The "government" will give eloquent speeches to all employees every week, encouraging its workers to continue to work hard "for the good of all".
5. The employees will be thrilled with these new policies because it's "good to spread the wealth around". Those of you who have underachieved will finally get an opportunity; those of you who have worked hard and had success will feel more "patriotic".
6. The last few people who were hired should clean out their desks. Don't feel bad, though, because President Obama will give you free healthcare, free handouts, free oil for heating your home, free food stamps, and he'll let you stay in your home for as long as you want even if you can't pay your mortgage. If you appeal directly to our democratic congress, you might even get a free flat screen TV and a coupon for free haircuts (shouldn't all Americans be entitled to nice looking hair?)!!!
If for any reason you are not happy with the new policies, you may want to rethink your vote on November 4th.

It's Debate Day!
October 15, 2008
Neal Boortz
The day has come. Tonight is the last debate ... well, that's what they like to call it ... between Barack Obama and John McCain. It's really a joint press conference. Wouldn't it be great just to give them both microphones and say "You have 90 minutes. Hash this thing out." Tom Brokaw virtually destroyed the last "debate" with his boring demeanor and pitiful choice of questions. So, tonight I'm not expecting much. John McCain hasn't taken off the boxing gloves yet, and my bet is that the 24 oz. gloves are waiting for him in his dressing room.
Time to set the rules for the drinking games.
For Barack: For every time he says "middle class" you take a shot. For every time he says "but what the American people really want to talk about" or some derivate thereof "is the economy" you eat a jalapeno. By the end of the session any continence or bowel problems you might have should be taken care of.
For McCain: Not so easy, this is going to be a little subjective. Let's just say that ever time The Chosen One tees it up for McCain, and McCain wiffs, you hit the bottle. You'll pass out before this mess is over.
Now McCain did say yesterday that Barack Obama's association with Bill Ayers will probably come up in the debate tonight. If it does, which Obama excuse would you like to choose from?
* "He just a guy who lives in my neighborhood."
* "Bombs? You're not serious! I thought he was just an English professor. English professors throw bombs? Surely you're talking about metaphorical bombs."
* "I was only 8-years-old when he threw bombs at the Pentagon."
* "I thought he had been rehabilitated."
* "Oh yeah? Well you knew Charles Keating!"
* "It all depends on what your definition of 'terrorist' is."
* "Hey, I didn't know anything about his past when he nurtured my political career."
* "Did he help me write my book? Look, let's talk about issues that matter to the American middle class."
I'm going to go with, "Let's focus on the economy" option.
I guess there is the possibility that McCain will hit Obama with something about his long-term association with ACORN. Here are some possible responses,
* "Everybody knows that from little acorns mighty oak trees grow. That has to mean something. I don't really know what ... but something."
* "All they're trying to do is to get more Americans to exercise their right to vote."
* "This stuff would really be bad if they were working for Republicans. But with Democrats, the rule is 'whatever's necessary'."
* I don't really know who put that thing on my website listing as a "fact" that I never worked with or for ACORN. It's gone now though. So all is forgiven, right
McCain's Economic Plan
At least this one isn't called a rescue plan for the middle class ... but yesterday I outlined some of Barack Obama's proposals, so today it is John McCain's turn.
* Reduce the tax rate on 10% of the first $50,000 withdrawn from retirement account. Why not reduce the tax rate TO 10%?
* Waive the rules forcing seniors to withdraw 15% of their retirement accounts at age 70. Great idea .. and one that Obama has picked up on.
* Increase tax write-offs for individuals to deduct $15,000 in stock losses for the next two years.
* Cut the capital gains tax on stock profits in half from 15% to 7.5%.
Those are just a few of his proposals. But the more entertaining part has been the response from the Obama campaign. At first they called the plan "a day late and 101 million middle-class families short." Oh no! You mean that John McCain didn't mention the middle class in his economic plan?? The horror! He is so out of touch.
And this economic brilliance is rich. An Obama spokesperson says, "Sen. McCain also shows how little he understands the economy by offering lower capital gains rates in a year in which people don't have an awful lot of capital gains." I'm sure this is the same guy who devised Obama's plan to cut capital gains taxes for all of you small business owners out there who don't pay capital gains taxes at all.
And then there's the wealth envy. This is skewed towards people at the top! This will only help people who don't need the help!
Under Obama if you're unemployed you should be forced to go get a job from a poor or middle class person. No fair trying to get a job from someone in the top 20% of income earners.

Do you want or need a job?
Every time I watch one of these debates I find myself inwardly screaming "Why didn't you say such-and-such? Finally I've come to realize a basic truth. These people – these politicians – spend most of their political lives trying to avoid telling people what they really think. Then, once every two, four or six years, they find themselves having to communicate with the people. A talk show host, on the other hand, is in the business of communicating ideas to people from 15 hours a week in most cases to my 22.5 hours a week. This is why you'll almost never hear a candidate come up with a line like this:
"Do you want a job? Are you looking for work? Tell me, are you going to go try to find a job from a member of the middle class? Probably not. Perhaps you think your chances of finding a job might be better if you go to a small business owners and large corporations. So .. while you're out there looking for jobs from these people, do you want us to be back in Washington raising their taxes? Do you want us to be plotting ways to relive them of the very money they need to hire you?"
Americans would get that.
Jobs are a big issue .. and an issue that is so easily addressed. Here's another line that you won't hear from a candidate:
"Do you know what has happened to so many of your jobs? The corporations who own those jobs sent them overseas to escape our punishing corporate tax rates. If you want to bring some of those jobs back, lower corporate taxes. What do you want corporations to do with that money? Pay it to the government in taxes, or use it to expand and provide new jobs. If we lower our corporate tax rate those companies who have been fleeing from our tax system may come back, and perhaps they'll bring some of their corporate friends with them. Now I'm suggesting a cut in corporate tax rates ... a cut that will create more jobs. When I make that suggestion my opponent counters with "John McCain wants to give big oil a huge tax cut." Instead of worrying about increasing job opportunities in this country, Barack Obama would rather demagogue oil companies."
Then Obama comes up with this "I'm going to cut taxes for 95% of the American public." Would someone please explain to me why McCain has never directly responded to this absurd line? Here's some more help from a talk show host:
"You're going to lower taxes for 95% of the people? Perhaps you don't know this, but 45% of American wage earners don't pay any federal income taxes. That places the entire federal income tax burden on just 55% of income earners. Please ... we're waiting ... tells us how you lower taxes on 95% of the people when only 45% are paying those taxes in the first place. I suspect that when you start explaining your plan we're going to learn that what you're really proposing is not tax cuts, but income redistribution."
"Do you want a job? Are you looking for work? Tell me, are you going to go try to find a job from a member of the middle class? Probably not. Perhaps you think your chances of finding a job might be better if you go to a small business owners and large corporations. Here's what Senator McCain needs to say tonight . . .
So here are a few things that John McCain should say tonight during the debate ... but won't.
1. Barack Obama says that he wants to lower capital gains taxes for small businesses in America. Does anyone see anything wrong with Barack Obama's plan? How about the fact that small businesses in this country don't pay capital gains taxes, they pay income taxes. And guess what? Barack Obama wants to raise income taxes on anyone making over $250,000 a year, and that includes you small business owners or the person you work for.
2. Do you realize that under a Barack Obama administration, his tax policies will be dictated by what the government deems to be fair or neighborly? They will decide how much of your money you actually "need," and the rest is subject to seizure. Oh, that paying higher taxes is "patriotic." Since when is it the government's job to decide how much of your money you should be allowed to keep?
3. Just yesterday I made a speech outlining how Democrat policies, supported by Barack Obama led to the mortgage meltdown in this country. It was the Democrats who, for years, opposed any type of reform. I called for this reform back in 2006. President Bush asked for this reform. But the Democrats didn't want it. They wanted to continue funding subprime mortgages because that was the American dream.
4. And speaking of these subprime mortgages ... have any of you ever heard of a little organization called ACORN? I bet you Barack Obama has heard of it. Because he worked with ACORN as a community organizer. (Oh wait, I'm not supposed to say that. Now I am racist ... ) But it was organizations like ACORN that would bully and coerce banks into making subprime mortgages to people who should be renters.
5. My opponent has proposed nearly one million dollars in pork spending – we call them earmarks now – for every day he's served in the U.S. Congress. I've been here for decades, and haven't asked for one dollar of pork.
6. My running mate, Governor Sarah Palin, resigned a government position so that she could go after a member of her own party engaged in corrupt activities in Alaska. Barack Obama has a history of supporting the corrupt political machine that helped him rise to prominence in Chicago.
And that's just for starters .........

Weak
Obama counters with McCain's relationship with Charles Keating. How easy is this to handle? It is just this simple.
Charles Keating was not KNOWN to be a corrupt businessman when his relationship with McCain began. Bill Ayers WAS known to be a terrorist when his relationship with Obama began. If you buddy up with someone who later turns out to be a crook, that's one thing. If you begin an association with someone known to already be a crook – in this case a terrorist – that's quite another. Come on, folks. This stuff is so easy. The truth is that the best friend Barack Obama has out there is not a terrorist but is an uninformed celebrity-worshipping electorate.
(Neal Boortz pretty much sums up the McCain/Keating relationship in a nutshell! VN8)

The Grassroots Movement
GRASSROOTS NEWS
As we grow throughout the country, new faces from new places will be posted, along with folks who’ve worked for years to make the FairTax a reality. These features will serve as a big “thank you” to our supporters, but will also serve as inspiration and a conduit for successful ideas to advocates across the country. Click on the Volunteer Network link in the left navigation and you will be given a direct line into the grassroots network, or e-mail us through the GRASSROOTS e-mail address and we’ll get you started.
Advocating for the FairTax shouldn’t be just another job, it should be a passion and it should be fun! While attending the first two big FairTax rallies, we had the opportunity to meet many of our members face-to-face. We were excited to see such wonderful diversity and the enthusiastic ways people expressed their feelings through T-shirts, signs, and even paint on their cars! Since the FairTax cuts across political and demographic lines, we added the Just for Fun section as a place for “Fair Taxers” to put up our feet, share a chuckle, and get to know one another.
Without our diligence and hard work we all will continue to suffer under an overwhelming, unjust, abused tax code. Thankfully, we have thousands and thousands of volunteers already in the trenches, working every day to further the FairTax. Join us!

Tell A Friend About the Fair Tax!

What is the FairTax plan?
The FairTax plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll based taxes with an integrated approach including a progressive national retail sales tax, a prebate to ensure no American pays federal taxes on spending up to the poverty level, dollar-for-dollar federal revenue neutrality, and, through companion legislation, the repeal of the 16th Amendment.
The FairTax Act (HR 25, S 1025) is nonpartisan legislation. It abolishes all federal personal and corporate income taxes, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, and self-employment taxes and replaces them with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax administered primarily by existing state sales tax authorities.
The FairTax taxes us only on what we choose to spend on new goods or services, not on what we earn. The FairTax is a fair, efficient, transparent, and intelligent solution to the frustration and inequity of our current tax system.
The FairTax:
* Enables workers to keep their entire paychecks
* Enables retirees to keep their entire pensions
* Refunds in advance the tax on purchases of basic necessities
* Allows American products to compete fairly
* Brings transparency and accountability to tax policy
* Ensures Social Security and Medicare funding
* Closes all loopholes and brings fairness to taxation
* Abolishes the IRS
