Government Schools are responsible for this . . .

"It's nice to see that Miss Teen South Carolina is trying to make a difference now that she's all grown up. On the merit of her amazing plan, this woman just took over for Ben Bernanke as Chairman of the Fed. She should have the economy fixed later this month. "

White Like Me!

OMG, this is hilarious! LOL Now if someone had made a "black like me" episode, I'm sure liberals wouldn't think it was so funny! But this is a riot!

The making of homemade salsa . . .

Well, I'm starting to have more tomatoes than I know what to do with, so I went today and bought all the ingredients for some salsa and it is/was delicious. I had enough tomatoes for four pints! I ate about a cup full all by myself. It turned out kind of soupy but next time around I'm going to remove the inside of the tomato and go for chunky. Wish you could smell how wonderful my kitchen smells. Ingredients below.

Tomatoes
Cilantro
Garlic
Lemon Juice
Vidalia Onion
Cumin
Seranno Peppers
Habanero Peppers (these babies are HOT)
Dash of Olive Oil

This is brilliant . . .

If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen. - Samuel Adams

RHETORIC V. REALITY: HEALTH CARE BY ORWELL

By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

Published in the New York Post on July 23, 2009

President Obama's rhetoric last night summoned the memory of "1984," George Orwell's novel of a nightmarish future -- where the slogan of the rulers is "War is peace; freedom is slavery; ignorance is strength."

The president assures us that he will cut health-care spending. . .by adding $1 trillion to health-care spending.

He says that "health-care decisions will not be made by government". . .while he sets up a new Federal Health Board to tell doctors what treatments they can offer and to whom and under what circumstances.

Obama told the media, "I will free doctors to make good health-care decisions". . .by telling the physicians what to do.

When the president says he guarantees the "same coverage" to people who like their current health-insurance policies, he means that their current HMOs, insurers and doctors will be the ones to implement the protocols and instructions the government hands down to them -- not that we'll have our current freedom of decision-making.

When he blandly assures us that we will "stop paying for things that don't make us healthier," he really means that his Federal Health Board will overrule your doctor and stop him from using his own best judgment in your treatment.

The president will "get the politics out of health care" by putting it under government control.

Obama says that he will not "add to the deficit" to fund health care. But the bill reported out by Rep. Charlie Rangel's Ways and Means Committee leaves $550 billion unfunded.

The president says that he'll identify savings that will reduce the need for more taxes -- even though the Congressional Budget Office refuses to say that his "savings" will actually work and warns that the bill will really be added to the deficit.

He repeatedly tells us that he'll cut health-care spending. What he means is that he will cut doctors' incomes and will turn down patients -- particularly the elderly -- when they seek medical care that his bureaucrats disapprove of.

And he ignores that cutting incomes in the medical field will reduce the number of doctors and force further rationing of care.

The president opines that he will replace the most "expensive care" with the "best care" by empowering government officials who have never met you to substitute their judgment for that of your doctor, who has examined you thoroughly.

When Obama laments that "14,000 people lose their insurance every day," he is referring to the job losses that his own failed efforts to end the recession have permitted.

He warns that health-care costs are gobbling up money that employers should use to raise wages and worker pay -- yet the plans he backs would require employers to pay 8 percent of their payroll as a tax or provide insurance to their workers.

The Obama plan highlights greater preventive care -- but, at the same time, cuts medical incomes and so will cut the number of doctors who might provide it.

The stimulus package, in the Gospel According to Barack, was "designed" to work over the next two years. But at the time, he demanded immediate passage to "jump-start the economy" -- something that clearly did not happen.

Medicare and Medicaid are "driving the deficit" even as he increased the amount of red ink by at least $800 billion in six months with little, if any, increase in the cost of either program.

He says he "expects" banks to repay their TARP money. In fact, they're lining up around the block to do so -- but the Treasury will only permit a handful of them to do so.

In summary, Obama's health program will promote "lower cost and more choice" by increasing spending by $1 trillion, telling patients what care they're permitted to have, and limiting their access to quality care.

Orwell's heirs should sue for violation of copyright.

(That just about sums it up and cutting and pasting is about all I'm up for but I just had to pass this one along, it hits the nail on the head! Hat tip to Fuzzy's Dad, check out his blog here, Bill Cosby thinks the President jumped the gun too! VN8)

3.5 more years of this?

The White House is yet again clarifying The President's remarks! Oh please will someone wake me up from the "propofol" (you know the drug that killed Michael Jackson)when this is all over!

The Cambridge police commissioner says his department is "deeply pained" by President Barack Obama's statement that his officers "acted stupidly" when they arrested a renowned black scholar in his home.

Come on Mr. President, the Black Caucus, the NAACP and any other group that wants to scream racism, give me a break. I'm so fed up with your liberal bullshit, I can't even think straight! Yeah I said it and if your reading this blog, your damn well entitled to my opinion. To you Sgt. James Crowley, thank you for your bravery, thank you for putting your life on the line everyday! God save us from ourselves!

It's a long shot . . .

but I have a friend on FaceBook who asked me to pray for a friend who was brutally beaten! Please pray for Chuck Sandstrom and his wife Auburn. If you have a prayer list at your church, please add his name and his family. I'll keep you posted if I find out ANYTHING. I know it's a long shot but this is the guy they are looking for:

This is the article:

AKRON, Ohio -- Akron police are searching for a man suspected in a vicious attack on a Barberton community leader.

Chuck Sandstrom, 58, is the executive director of the Barberton Community Foundation and is also an Akron landlord.

On July 1, Sandstrom called a tow truck to have an unlicensed vehicle removed from a property on Grand Avenue. Investigators said Michael Ayers suddenly attacked Sandstrom and knocked him unconscious.

Sandstrom has been in a coma ever since.

"If you know him at all, it's impossible to think of hurting him, and so what's so difficult for me is I'm getting his clothes, they're covered in blood. I pick up his tooth. The violence, the brutality, is uncanny," said Sandstrom's wife, Auburn.

You could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000 for information on Ayers.

Anyone with information should call Summit County Crime Stoppers at 330-434-COPS.

Additional info:

Rich Muller, Herald Staff Writer 16.JUL.09
Akron police are looking for the man accused of an assault that rendered unconscious Chuck Sandstrom, director of the Barberton Community Foundation, on July 1.

He was not in a fight. He was trying to reason with a volatile person, Auburn Sandstrom said of her husband.

It began when Sandstrom called that evening to have a car towed that had been parked for some time from outside the apartment building he owns on Grand Avenue in Akron. According to Akron police, the cars owner, Michael D. Ayers, 32, berated Sandstrom and the tow truck driver before leaving in another vehicle.

The police left as the tow truck driver was hooking the car up, but returned when the driver called to say Ayers had come back. He was gone again when police returned, so they left again and the car, a 1994 gray Ford Taurus, was towed. Ayers returned a third time and hit Sandstrom, knocking him to the ground, police said.

Sandstrom has been transferred to an acute care facility, but remained unconscious as of the Heralds deadline. Auburn is optimistic and has been told the signs are good. How long that recovery takes remains to be seen.

He is a feisty son of a gun and made a life out of beating the odds, she said.

The Sandstroms have not been married long and Auburn was in the process of moving from Findlay to her husbands house in Barberton. She has a son and he has two daughters and a son.

What gives her comfort now, in addition to her husbands children being there, is spending time at the apartment building where the assault happened.

It mattered to me to talk to the neighbors, to clean up and make it safe for the tenants, Auburn said. Those are things that Chuck would have been doing and it gives me so comfort.

Sandstrom is a member of the Magic City Kiwanis and the Barberton Rotary and members of those organizations have been helping out the Sandstrom family with food. Others have been stepping up to help such as Eberhardt Landscaping mowing the lawn.
