White Like Me!

OMG, this is hilarious! LOL Now if someone had made a "black like me" episode, I'm sure liberals wouldn't think it was so funny! But this is a riot!

The making of homemade salsa . . .

Well, I'm starting to have more tomatoes than I know what to do with, so I went today and bought all the ingredients for some salsa and it is/was delicious. I had enough tomatoes for four pints! I ate about a cup full all by myself. It turned out kind of soupy but next time around I'm going to remove the inside of the tomato and go for chunky. Wish you could smell how wonderful my kitchen smells. Ingredients below.

RHETORIC V. REALITY: HEALTH CARE BY ORWELL

President Obama's rhetoric last night summoned the memory of "1984," George Orwell's novel of a nightmarish future -- where the slogan of the rulers is "War is peace; freedom is slavery; ignorance is strength."

The president assures us that he will cut health-care spending. . .by adding $1 trillion to health-care spending.

He says that "health-care decisions will not be made by government". . .while he sets up a new Federal Health Board to tell doctors what treatments they can offer and to whom and under what circumstances.

Obama told the media, "I will free doctors to make good health-care decisions". . .by telling the physicians what to do.

When the president says he guarantees the "same coverage" to people who like their current health-insurance policies, he means that their current HMOs, insurers and doctors will be the ones to implement the protocols and instructions the government hands down to them -- not that we'll have our current freedom of decision-making.

When he blandly assures us that we will "stop paying for things that don't make us healthier," he really means that his Federal Health Board will overrule your doctor and stop him from using his own best judgment in your treatment.

The president will "get the politics out of health care" by putting it under government control.

Obama says that he will not "add to the deficit" to fund health care. But the bill reported out by Rep. Charlie Rangel's Ways and Means Committee leaves $550 billion unfunded.

The president says that he'll identify savings that will reduce the need for more taxes -- even though the Congressional Budget Office refuses to say that his "savings" will actually work and warns that the bill will really be added to the deficit.

He repeatedly tells us that he'll cut health-care spending. What he means is that he will cut doctors' incomes and will turn down patients -- particularly the elderly -- when they seek medical care that his bureaucrats disapprove of.

And he ignores that cutting incomes in the medical field will reduce the number of doctors and force further rationing of care.

The president opines that he will replace the most "expensive care" with the "best care" by empowering government officials who have never met you to substitute their judgment for that of your doctor, who has examined you thoroughly.

When Obama laments that "14,000 people lose their insurance every day," he is referring to the job losses that his own failed efforts to end the recession have permitted.

He warns that health-care costs are gobbling up money that employers should use to raise wages and worker pay -- yet the plans he backs would require employers to pay 8 percent of their payroll as a tax or provide insurance to their workers.

The Obama plan highlights greater preventive care -- but, at the same time, cuts medical incomes and so will cut the number of doctors who might provide it.

The stimulus package, in the Gospel According to Barack, was "designed" to work over the next two years. But at the time, he demanded immediate passage to "jump-start the economy" -- something that clearly did not happen.

Medicare and Medicaid are "driving the deficit" even as he increased the amount of red ink by at least $800 billion in six months with little, if any, increase in the cost of either program.

He says he "expects" banks to repay their TARP money. In fact, they're lining up around the block to do so -- but the Treasury will only permit a handful of them to do so.

In summary, Obama's health program will promote "lower cost and more choice" by increasing spending by $1 trillion, telling patients what care they're permitted to have, and limiting their access to quality care.

Orwell's heirs should sue for violation of copyright.

The White House is yet again clarifying The President's remarks! Oh please will someone wake me up from the "propofol" (you know the drug that killed Michael Jackson)when this is all over!

The Cambridge police commissioner says his department is "deeply pained" by President Barack Obama's statement that his officers "acted stupidly" when they arrested a renowned black scholar in his home.


Come on Mr. President, the Black Caucus, the NAACP and any other group that wants to scream racism, give me a break. I'm so fed up with your liberal bullshit, I can't even think straight! Yeah I said it and if your reading this blog, your damn well entitled to my opinion. To you Sgt. James Crowley, thank you for your bravery, thank you for putting your life on the line everyday! God save us from ourselves!

but I have a friend on FaceBook who asked me to pray for a friend who was brutally beaten! Please pray for Chuck Sandstrom and his wife Auburn. If you have a prayer list at your church, please add his name and his family. I'll keep you posted if I find out ANYTHING. I know it's a long shot but this is the guy they are looking for:

AKRON, Ohio -- Akron police are searching for a man suspected in a vicious attack on a Barberton community leader.

Chuck Sandstrom, 58, is the executive director of the Barberton Community Foundation and is also an Akron landlord.

On July 1, Sandstrom called a tow truck to have an unlicensed vehicle removed from a property on Grand Avenue. Investigators said Michael Ayers suddenly attacked Sandstrom and knocked him unconscious.

Sandstrom has been in a coma ever since.

"If you know him at all, it's impossible to think of hurting him, and so what's so difficult for me is I'm getting his clothes, they're covered in blood. I pick up his tooth. The violence, the brutality, is uncanny," said Sandstrom's wife, Auburn.

You could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000 for information on Ayers.

Akron police are looking for the man accused of an assault that rendered unconscious Chuck Sandstrom, director of the Barberton Community Foundation, on July 1.

He was not in a fight. He was trying to reason with a volatile person, Auburn Sandstrom said of her husband.

It began when Sandstrom called that evening to have a car towed that had been parked for some time from outside the apartment building he owns on Grand Avenue in Akron. According to Akron police, the cars owner, Michael D. Ayers, 32, berated Sandstrom and the tow truck driver before leaving in another vehicle.

The police left as the tow truck driver was hooking the car up, but returned when the driver called to say Ayers had come back. He was gone again when police returned, so they left again and the car, a 1994 gray Ford Taurus, was towed. Ayers returned a third time and hit Sandstrom, knocking him to the ground, police said.

Sandstrom has been transferred to an acute care facility, but remained unconscious as of the Heralds deadline. Auburn is optimistic and has been told the signs are good. How long that recovery takes remains to be seen.

He is a feisty son of a gun and made a life out of beating the odds, she said.

The Sandstroms have not been married long and Auburn was in the process of moving from Findlay to her husbands house in Barberton. She has a son and he has two daughters and a son.

What gives her comfort now, in addition to her husbands children being there, is spending time at the apartment building where the assault happened.

It mattered to me to talk to the neighbors, to clean up and make it safe for the tenants, Auburn said. Those are things that Chuck would have been doing and it gives me so comfort.

Sandstrom is a member of the Magic City Kiwanis and the Barberton Rotary and members of those organizations have been helping out the Sandstrom family with food. Others have been stepping up to help such as Eberhardt Landscaping mowing the lawn.

Soldier who says Obama isn't president doesn't have to deploy, Army says

U.S. Army Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook, the reserve soldier who says he shouldn't have to go to Afghanistan because he believes Barack Obama was never eligible to be president, has had his deployment orders revoked, Army officials said.

Lt. Col. Maria Quon, U.S. Army Public Affairs Officer, U.S. Army Human Resources Command-St. Louis, said Tuesday evening, Cook was no longer expected to report Wednesday to MacDill Air Force Base in Florida for mobilization to active duty.

Cook is an Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA), meaning he is a reserve soldier assigned to an active component unit for duty. He is assigned to the U.S. Army Element of U.S. Southern Command. Last week he filed a request in federal court seeking a temporary restraining order and status as a conscientious objector through his California-based attorney, Orly Taitz.



Taitz, who has also challenged the legitimacy of Obama’s presidency in other courts, filed the 20-page document on July 8 with the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. In it Taitz asks the court to consider granting her client’s request based upon Cook’s belief that Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States and is therefore ineligible to serve as commander-in-chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Cook further states he “would be acting in violation of international law by engaging in military actions outside the United States under this President’s command. ... simultaneously subjecting himself to possible prosecution as a war criminal by the faithful execution of these duties.”

Documents show Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961, two years after it became a state.

Earlier today, Quon said Cook submitted a formal written request to Human Resources Command-St. Louis on May 8, 2009 volunteering to serve one year in Afghanistan with Special Operations Command, U.S. Army Central Command, beginning July 15, 2009. The soldier's orders were issued on June 9, Quon said.

"A reserve soldier who volunteers for an active duty tour may ask for a revocation of orders up until the day he is scheduled to report for active duty," Quon said.

She added that there is an administrative process to request revocation of orders. As of this afternoon, Cook had not asked for his orders to be revoked, Quon said. She could not say why the soldier's orders were pulled today by 3 p.m. CDT.

"Because of the Privacy Act I couldn't go into it," Quon said.

A call to Cook's attorney this evening was not immediately returned.

There are approximately 3,800 Individual Mobilization Augmentees in the U.S. Army Reserves. In addition to IMAs, the U.S. Army Reserves has three additional reserve levels, Quon said.

Approximately 63,000 soldiers serve with the Individual Ready Reserves, meaning they have no routine training or attendance requirements and no pay; 188,000 serve as reservists, attached to reserve units; and about 16,000 soldiers serve with the Active Guard Reserve, Quon said. The latter group consists of soldiers who have volunteered to be on full-time active duty, she continued.

A hearing to discuss Cook’s requests is scheduled to take place in federal court here Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg and a Question of Eugenics

Does Ginsburg see eugenic culling as a compelling state interest?

Here’s what Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said in Sunday’s New York Times Magazine: “Frankly I had thought that at the time [Roe v. Wade] was decided,” Ginsburg told her interviewer, Emily Bazelon, “there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.”

The comment, which bizarrely elicited no follow-up from Bazelon or any further coverage from the New York Times — or any other major news outlet — was in the context of Medicaid funding for abortion. Ginsburg was surprised when the Supreme Court in 1980 barred taxpayer support for abortions for poor women. After all, if poverty partly described the population you had “too many of,” you would want to subsidize it in order to expedite the reduction of unwanted populations.

Left unclear is whether Ginsburg endorses the eugenic motivation she ascribed to the passage of Roe v. Wade or whether she was merely objectively describing it. One senses that if Antonin Scalia had offered such a comment, a Times interviewer would have sought more clarity, particularly on the racial characteristics of these supposedly unwanted populations.

Regardless, Ginsburg’s certainly right that abortion has deep roots in the historic effort to “weed out” undesired groups. For instance, Margaret Sanger, the revered feminist and founder of Planned Parenthood, was a racist eugenicist of the first order. Even more perplexing: She’s become a champion of “reproductive freedom” even though she proposed a “Code to Stop Overproduction of Children,” under which “no woman shall have a legal right to bear a child without a permit.” (Poor blacks would have had a particularly hard time getting such licenses from Sanger.)

If Ginsburg does see eugenic culling as a compelling state interest, she’d be in fine company on the court. Oliver Wendell Holmes was a passionate believer in such things. In 1915, Holmes wrote in the Illinois Law Review that the “starting point for an ideal for the law” should be the “coordinated human effort . . . to build a race.”

In 1927, he wrote a letter to his friend, Harold Laski, telling him, “I . . . delivered an opinion upholding the constitutionality of a state law for sterilizing imbeciles the other day — and felt that I was getting near the first principle of real reform.” That was the year he wrote the majority opinion in Buck v. Bell (joined by Louis Brandeis) holding that forcibly sterilizing lower-class women was constitutional. In recent years, openly discussing the notion of eugenic aspects of abortion has become taboo. But as Ginsburg’s comments suggest, the taboo hasn’t eliminated the idea; it’s merely sent it underground.

To be sure, some heterodox liberals speak up. The writer Nicholas von Hoffman has written: “Free, cheap abortion is a policy of social defense. To save ourselves from being murdered in our beds and raped on the streets, we should do everything possible to encourage pregnant women who don’t want the baby and will not take care of it to get rid of the thing before it turns into a monster.”

In 1992, Ron Weddington, co-counsel in the Roe v. Wade case, wrote a letter to President-elect Clinton, imploring him to rush RU-486 — a.k.a. “the abortion pill” — to market as quickly as possible.

“(Y)ou can start immediately to eliminate the barely educated, unhealthy and poor segment of our country,” Weddington insisted. All the president had to do was make abortion cheap and easy for the populations we don’t want. “It’s what we all know is true, but we only whisper it. . . . Think of all the poverty, crime and misery . . . and then add 30 million unwanted babies to the scenario. We lost a lot of ground during the Reagan-Bush religious orgy. We don’t have a lot of time left.”

Weddington offered a clue about who, in particular, he had in mind: “For every Jesse Jackson who has fought his way out of the poverty of a large family, there are millions mired in poverty, drugs and crime.” Ah, right. Jesse Jackson. Got it.

Unlike Bazelon, I for one would like to know whether Ginsburg believes there were — or are — some populations in need of shrinking through abortion and whether she thinks such considerations have any place at the Supreme Court.

And while we’re at it, it would be interesting to know what Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor thinks about such things.

Tapper saw it happen live and somehow pulled himself together to file a report. Tragic mishap? Or further harrowing evidence of The One’s penchant for playing hardball with his enemies, especially those who have betrayed him time and again?

There are no accidents in Chicago, my friends.

Midway through his speech on urban and metropolitan policy in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building this afternoon, one of his two small glass prompters came crashing down, hitting the wood floor and crashing in many pieces. It made quite a ruckus.

“Oh, goodness,” a startled President Obama said. “Sorry about that, guys.”

He then proceeded on with his remarks, “To pull our economy back from the brink, including the largest and most sweeping economic recovery plan in our nation’s history…”

For the rest of the speech the president relied on the one remaining teleprompter, to his right, and notes on his podium to finish his speech.

Shards of glass remained near the president’s feet for the duration of his speech.

Graphic photos of the remains are already on the wires. Exit question: Who’s going to take the fall for this? If only there were a simpleton in The One’s inner circle, one sufficiently childlike as not to resist being made a scapegoat, perhaps with a history of antipathy to TOTUS and who heyyyyyyyyy!

Akron police say they aren't ready to call it a hate crime or a gang initiation.

But to Marty Marshall, his wife and two kids, it seems pretty clear.

It came after a family night of celebrating America and freedom with a fireworks show at Firestone Stadium. Marshall, his family and two friends were gathered outside a friend's home in South Akron.

Out of nowhere, the six were attacked by dozens of teenage boys, who shouted ''This is our world'' and ''This is a black world'' as they confronted Marshall and his family.

The Marshalls, who are white, say the crowd of teens who attacked them and two friends June 27 on Girard Street numbered close to 50. The teens were all black.

''This was almost like being a terrorist act,'' Marshall said. ''And we allow this to go on in our neighborhoods?''

They said it started when one teen, without any words or warning, blindsided and assaulted Marshall's friend as he stood outside with the others.

When Marshall, 39, jumped in, he found himself being attacked by the growing group of teens.

His daughter, Rachel, 15, who weighs about 90 pounds, tried to come to his rescue. The teens pushed her to the ground.

His wife, Yvonne, pushed their son, Donald, 14, into bushes to keep him protected.

''My thing is,'' Marshall said, ''I didn't want this, but I was in fear for my wife, my kids and my friends. I felt I had to stay out there to protect them, because those guys were just jumping, swinging fists and everything.

''I'm lucky. They didn't break my ribs or bruise my ribs. I thank God, they concentrated on my thick head because I do have one. They were trying to take my head off my spine, basically.''

After several minutes of punches and kicks, the attack ended and the group ran off. The Marshalls' two adult male friends were not seriously hurt.

''I don't think I thought at that moment when I tried to jump in,'' Rachel Marshall said. ''But when I was laying on the ground, I was just scared.''

Marshall was the most seriously injured. He suffered a concussion and multiple bruises to his head and eye. He said he spent five nights in the critical care unit at Akron General Medical Center.

The construction worker said he now fears for his family's safety, and the thousands of dollars in medical bills he faces without insurance.

''I knew I was going to get beat, but not as bad as I did,'' Marshall said. ''But I did it to protect my family. I didn't have a choice. There was no need for this. We should be all getting along. But to me, it seems to be racist.''

Akron police are investigating. Right now, the case is not being classified as a racial hate crime. There were no other reports of victims assaulted by the group that night.

The department's gang unit is involved in the investigation, police said.

''We don't know if it's a known gang, or just a group of kids,'' police Lt. Rick Edwards said.

The Marshalls say they fear retaliation at home or when they go outside. They are considering arming themselves, but they're concerned about the possible problems that come with guns.

For now, they are hoping police can bring them suspects. They believe they can identify several of the attackers.

''This makes you think about your freedom,'' Marshall said. ''In all reality, where is your freedom when you have this going on?'

(Where is the outrage, why isn't this being reported in the main stream media? This further proves to me that we are in deed living in a world when we need to create an organization "National Association of White People." As Caucasians become more and more a minority nationality, Caucasians need to have representation. Now that sounds like some Hope and Change I can believe in! 30-Year-Old Man Remains In Critical Condition, Cops Look Toward Bias Motivation


VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. (CBS) ― Police have made two arrests but are searching for at least a dozen other suspects in a weekend attack that critically injured a Long Island man.

Police say they're investigating a possible bias motive in the beating. They note that the victim is white and the teenagers involved were all black.

Detectives don't know what prompted the incident. But they say there are reports that racial comments were made by someone at the scene.

Nassau County police say the 30-year-old Valley Stream man was repeatedly kicked and punched in the head, face and chest early Sunday outside his home. He suffered a fractured eye socket and a concussion.

The two suspects were awaiting arraignment on gang assault charges.

The victim remains in critical condition at a Long Island hospital.

Spree Killer Dead . . .

and not a day too soon!





I've been following this story since it started. Patrick Tracy Burris terrorized a small sleepy town in South Carolina for about two weeks. We may never know why, but we wish we did. In some ways it puts our curiosity to rest.

I have a personal interest in this story, I grew up in Gastonia, NC, where the spree killer met his fate. (Just a bit of trivia, he was actually killed in Dallas, NC.) Gaffney, SC is only about 30 miles away. When I was growing up it wasn't uncommon to pile in the car on a Sunday afternoon in the summer to drive to Gaffney to buy peaches. If you have ever driven on Interstate 85 thru South Carolina you have seen the huge peach water tower, that's where this maniac changed the lives of the families he murdered and the lives of everyone within a 100 mile radius.



Police agencies worked tirelessly to find out who this killer was and I'm sure they breathed a sigh of relief when it was determined that they had their man. I'd like to salute Gaston County's finest. Thank you for your courage and your bravery! You have made the surrounding communities a little safer. Patrick Tracy Burris will not be tried, convicted and released ever again. But how many more are there out there that should NOT be on the streets.



With a rap sheet that was apparently 25 pages long, there is no valid explanation why this man was not in prison. Questions need to be answered!

To the police agencies in South Carolina who didn't sleep for two weeks, I salute you! Now it is time to uncover they "why" this crazy person wasn't locked away!

To the Gaston County police officer who finally gave us justice, "Good job", there's no telling how many lives you saved!

To the families of those who were murdered, the words "you are in my prayers" and "I am so sorry for your loss" can't provide you with much solace, especially now that you know the history of this criminal. May God provide you with comfort that only He can provide.

Man Who Worked With Spree Killer Speaks Out

News Channel 7 spoke with Chip Jones, who worked with Patrick Tracy Burris for 6 months last year, at a machine shop in Shelby, N.C. Burris was on a work release program while at a correctional institute in Dallas, N.C. Jones says Burris was a safe cracker and had a temper, but didn’t seem like he would kill someone. He says he was known as, “Big Country.“ “He’d been in prison he told me before in Florida. He told me that. He told me two or three things, but he had a temper,“ says Jones. Jones also says Burris was terminated from his job for insubordination.

Obama: Deceiver, Cheat, Swindler, Liar, Frandster, Con-Artist

BARACK Obama will have few traffic problems getting to the Kremlin for his first summit with Russian president Dmitri Medvedev on Monday – the Obamamania that has swept much of the rest of the world is absent from Moscow; there will be no adoring crowds to greet him.

Russian news agency Pravda was less than subtle in an editorial summing up the Obama administration, headlined:
"Obama: Deceiver, cheat, swindler, liar, fraudster, con-artist."

For so many of us this Independence Day our flags might be flying high, but our patriotic spirits are profoundly troubled.

Allow me to point out the dichotomy of the weekend. Amid your celebrations, were you uneasy? As you watched parades, or fireworks, or ate barbecue, perhaps a little voice inside said something like, "It took America eight years of bloody Revolution to become a free republic, and in just months look at how far we've strayed from that ideal."

Oh sure, this holiday weekend has been fun. We right-wing extremists were born to hum along with Sousa or supervise the decorating of bikes in red, white and blue streamers. Who can't muster a smile for a child with his first sparkler?

As I watched my 30th Peachtree Road Race on TV (I've never quite made it downtown on the Fourth) I marveled again at American creativity and our ability to take good ideas and build them into something truly grand - if government doesn't interfere, that is.

Yet then I remember: In the statist Obama nation, private enterprise and achievement are under attack - distinctly un-American.

Meanwhile, despite his "Mission Accomplished" moment last week, when Obama announced his bailout policies have really, truly worked (is Baghdad Bob running White House communications?) we have 9.6 percent unemployment, the highest in 26 years. In June alone, Americans lost 476,000 jobs.

As Dr. Phil would say, "How's that working for you, Barack?"

In just months, corporations have been taken over by the feds. Profitable private auto dealerships were closed and individuals, even CEOs, were threatened, victims of the new gangster politics.

Last week, our Democrat Congress and eight turncoat Republicans moved us closer to the change America so ignorantly voted for, passing the largest tax increase in history, despite a harsh recession and Obama's "no middle class tax hike" pledge.

Obama lied, but Gov. Sanford cried and Michael J. died, and the media barely noticed. Now we're close to enacting the Cap-and-Trade (Waxman-Markey) Bill, aka, the Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009.

Based on phony science, this monster levies more taxes on everyone, will reduce GNP, possibly destroying 1 to 2 million jobs each year, and will force us to live in the strange little world of carbon emission haters, i.e. environmental inspections by the feds before selling your home and restrictions on appliance use from wood stoves to light bulbs, none over 60 watts allowed. It even specifies where to plant trees in your yard, if it even allows yards - no one has read the whole 1,200 pages of the legislation yet.

Still to be considered in the Senate, this bill needs to die. It's un-American.

So this week, call Johnny and Saxby. Attend a future Tea Party, like the one conducted in Cobb last Friday. It's good to be with others who understand history, political theory and the implications of creeping socialism and fascism.

Continue to support our troops, and pray for them as they push deeper into Afghanistan, fighting Obama's refocused War on "Overseas Contingencies," his PC term for Terrorism.

And keep the faith until Election Day, if you can.

The Republican, Liberals love, can't make up his mind . . .




WASHINGTON (AP) - Colin Powell worries that President Barack Obama is trying to tackle too many big issues at one time and he offers this advice: take a hard look at costs and consider the additional red tape that will be created.

"The right answer is, 'Give me a government that works,'" the former secretary of state said in a television interview to be aired Sunday. "Keep it as small as possible," added Powell, who said he has spoken recently with Obama and stays in touch with him. Powell, a Republican, endorsed Obama last year over the GOP presidential nominee, Arizona Sen. John McCain.

Obama wants to overhaul the health care system and take on climate change while also helping the country emerge from the recession.

"I think one of the cautions that has to be given to the president - and I've talked to some of his people about this - is that you can't have so many things on the table that you can't absorb it all. And we can't pay for it all," Powell said.

"And I never would have believed that we would have budgets that are running into the multi-trillions of dollars, and we are amassing a huge, huge national debt that, if we don't pay for in our lifetime, our kids and grand kids and great grandchildren will have to pay for it."

It's not a new theme for Powell

He complained about the government's size and intrusiveness in his 1996 speech to the Republican National Convention. He said then that the nation no longer could afford more entitlements, higher taxes and more bureaucracy. In the interview with CNN's "State of the Union" that is to air Sunday, Powell said he hasn't changed his mind.

"Keep it as small as possible. Keep the tax burden on the American people as small as possible, but at the same time, have government that is solving the problems of the people," he said.


He said Obama "has to start really taking a very, very hard look at what the cost of all this is. And, how much additional bureaucracy and will it be effective bureaucracy."

(Oh how the liberals love Colin Powell when he endorses POTUS, wonder what they will think now? I think Colin Powell can't figure out which side of the fence best suits his ass! Yeah, I said it and you are entitled to my opinion. VN8)

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our British brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these united Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States, that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. — And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.

A Hero Salute!

Staff Sgt. John Beale of McDonough, who died in Afghanistan and was returned to his home soil this afternoon, got a hero's welcome from Fayette residents Thursday afternoon.

Hundreds of people, many waving American flags, lined the route. Sgt. Beale was escorted from Falcon Field in Peachtree City where his jet landed and through downtown Fayetteville on the way to McDonough.

Close friends and family welcomed Beale home in a ceremony on the apron at Falcon Field. Joining them were a host of law enforcement officers, local veterans and the Patriot Guard motorcycle escort crew.

Men, women and children, including many veterans, lined the procession route at different areas. Hands over their hearts or in salute, they paid tribute to an area man who died protecting our country.
