Come on now, don't panic, who knows better how to take care of you than Uncle Sam! I mean look at the economic situation our Nation faces today. Don't you want to turn over your hard earned dollars so that the Federal Government can dole them out to you as they see fit? I can't believe you are even questioning their ability! In the infamous words of John Stossel, 'Give me a break.' Run for the hills and join the OnLine Tax Revolt! VN8

The government can only take what they know about - buy silver and gold.
I recall Jessie Jackson advocating this exact idea some years back. Not being the sharpest knife in the drawer, it undoubtedly originated with someone else. It was justified by the thought that if IRA and 401 accounts existed by the grace of the federal government, the government had the right to use the money. Especially vulnerable are the gigantic public employee/teacher funds in some states. You can imagine how that would have worked out, right? Your retirement dollars subsidizing welfare?
