I heard this on the radio tonight and found it on YouTube! Janis Joplin ROCKS! RIP woman, you were the best!
This song was written by Jerry Ragovoy and Bert Berns and originally recorded by Erma Franklin in 1967. The song came to greater mainstream attention when Janis Joplin and Big Brother and the Holding Company. Janis Joplin made this song her very own!

Her life was not one to be emulated but I love her voice and delivery. She was truly an original.
My observation is that some people live with such an intense passion and their coping mechanisms may or may not be adequate. How many times have we observed people who die way to young? If alive today, Janis Joplin would be 66 years old. Another life lost way before her time. I wonder if she had it to do all over again if she would have lived her life differently? Sadly we will never know.
I just loved her voice an her passion. VN8
Great song and great voice!
