Joe better be sure his tax returns are on the up and up...you never know who may order an audit.

Don't you know that's right! He's probably thinking, "what was I thinking?" Poor guy, I feel sorry for anyone who finds themselves under a spotlight like that, but who knows maybe someone will see him and bring him great treasures! VN8

"Wurzelbacher owes the state of Ohio $1,182.98 in personal income tax, according to Lucas County Court of Common Pleas records.

In January 2007, Ohio's Department of Taxation filed a claim on his property until he pays the debt, according to the records. The lien remains active."

One would think he'd WANT the tax break since he makes well under $250,000/yr and obviously can't pays the taxes he already owes!

So the media has dug up some dirt on Joe the Plumber, doesn't change the fact that BO wants to "spread the wealth around." That's the "real" issue, not what Joe owes. Let's don't' confuse apples and oranges.

What is sad in this story is that he's a divorced father with a 13 year old child and he can't afford to pay his bills. If the government wasn't alread taxing us to death, he might not be in the position he's in. No wonder he wanted to know about BO tax plan, he has a personal concern. But instead, he asked an honest question and now he's being annihilated in the press. Makes you wonder if a Democrat is the one who dug up the dirt. Just more mudslinging. By the time the election rolls around, we'll all have so much mud on our goggles, raincoats and galoshes it will take months to wash it all off!

I think Senator Joe Biden who thinks it's Patriotic to pay taxes, should cough up some cash and pay Joe's taxes.

I'm not even going to try to explain to you that BO plan to cut taxes is not a TAX cut when people who don't even pay taxes would receive money every January. *(More redistribution of wealth.) VN8

Angie, Joe doesn't want a hand out. He wants only to keep BO's hands out of his pockets. I don't know what the lien is about...could be any number of things. Maybe he is a tax scofflaw, but Joe isn't the issue. BO's plan for all of us is the important matter.

That's where you and I differ Lee.. I don't see where it's a handout when someone bust their asses! He'd simply be getting IMO what he deserves!

Joe, Joe, Joe you've been telling us some big tall tells mister! Now pay those taxes like a good citizen, get that plumbing license like a good citizen, quit lying about your income and then we can talk politics.

Well, I just got home from the salt mines and I've been monitoring all your comments today and have had time to contemplate my responses to you.

I just want to get a few things straight. As I understand each of you Democrats, the party of compassion for those less fortunate, the party who wants to help the have nots, I am dismayed and disappointed that you have attacked one of your own. He may not be a Democrat, but he's working as hard as each of you trying to make ends meet but because he asked a question of your "chosen one" and BO claimed to want to "spread the wealth around", you have chosen to attack this blue collar worker. The way I understand your reasoning is that you only have compassion for someone if they are a Democrat! Well in the words of Jeremiah Wright, God Damn that thought process. If you have so much compassion, you should have compassion for every American, not just those that you choose to have compassion for.

Lee is correct when he says that there are plenty of people that owe taxes of all kinds, he's not alone. We don't know the cirucumstances that caused Joe to owe past taxes, but you are so quick to condemn him because he's a Republican. As for him not having a license to practice plumbing, I don't have a f**king license to practice plumbing either but if you had something wrong with your toilet, I could probably fix it! Government wants to license every profession in the world as a way of control. I know the profession that I am in was just recently licensed and I still for the life of me have no idea other than to follow the money trail as to why we are licensed. If you want someone to come to your house to perform work for you and you want someone who is qualified do you need local government to assure you that they are qualified or can you not figure that out for yourselves.

Joe the plumber asked some tough questions of your "chosen one" and you are doing exactly what you accuse conservatives of and that's deflecting attention away from the real issue! The real issue is that BO wants to take away from someone whom he deems as "rich" and "more fortunate" and spread that "so called" wealth with someone else! Keep your hand out of my wallet, PLEASE! I'll decide if someone needs assistance!

How about showing some compassion, set up a paypal account, 1200 people could send him one buck and he'd be out of debt with the Internal Revenue Police or the local government. (Not sure if it's property tax or income tax that he owes.) So do me a favor, until you can show some compassion to each and every person and not just Democrats, keep your sarcasm to yourself. Joe hasn't done a single thing but worked 12 to 14 hours a day to imagine his dream and through no fault of his own, his character is being assassinated! Maybe if he was black you might show him a little compassion but I know that's not the case!

And another thing BO, since when is it a disgrace for a plumber or anyone else to earn 250,000 a year or even have a dream to earn 250,000 a year!? BO can kiss my lily white ass and if he does win, only time will tell how long it is before small businesses are put out of business and none of us have jobs. Who's going to pay for all of you government hand outs then? VN8

Licenses protect the PUBLIC! I'll give you an example! I'm a licensed mortgage broker, therefore I'm accountable for my actions! If I do something wrong, commit fraud, make a mistake or whatever, I'm held accountable for my actions and I face jail/prison time and my license will be revoked! Unlicensed brokers can work in my industry under a lenders license! They do NOT have the same accountability as I do, nor do they stand to lose a dang thing if they do something unethical! Part of the reason there are folks out there who were put into mortgages they couldn't afford is because unlicensed people, who didn't have to get the education I had to get, who didn't stand to lose anything (and thus did some pretty funky "creative financing"), did mortgages for those folks. I personally WANT someone who is licensed and who will be held accountable for their actions to do work I hire out for! Is it a Governmental control issue? No.. It's a public protection issue!

Sarcasm? Me thinks someone has the pot calling the kettle black syndrome! =) Correct me if you're wrong but didn't you post "Red State Update talks to Joe the Plumber!" Aren't you kinda making fun of Joe there VN8 by making that blog?

In reference to numerous assumptions you just made.. I won't respond to those! Slinging personal insults is not productive.

Angie, even if you didn't have a license and even if it wasn't required, you could be sued. You don't have to have a license to be sued. I'm not even going to argue your point. I'm for less government and you apparently love more government.

I posted the Red State Update because I can laugh at myself and I'm sure Joe can too and to be honest I was trying to beat Jim to the punch.

As for the sarcasm, you didn't need to point that out to me, I can be the Queen of sarcasm and apparently it rubs just the way it was and is intended.

It always amazes me though when I ask you a specific question and you utilize the, "I've answered that before, I'm not going to answer that again" or whatever excuse is necessary to not answer a specific question. If you don't know the answer to a question, just say, I don't know. There's no shame in that.

I feel pretty sure, you don't want to give up anything you or your family has because someone else wants it. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm sure you will let me know if I am.

I'm not trying to personally insult you but in my opinion, I think you are wrong and if you want to comment on my blog or anyone elses, especially mine, I'll point that out.
